here's what I've finished

two hoops for my fake hoop swap the theme of the swap is silhouttes or negative space.

i found these pictures of cats in that rainbow of stitches book. and i think that capture my cats pretty well. sadly the fabric wasn't long enough for the hoops so there is a little space open at the top and bottom of both the hoops . but I'm no perfectionist so it doesn't bother me.

a shirt i made and a couple different ways you can wear it with the help of ribbon and i got the pattern here . I'm getting better at hemming but not by much. I like this top its my first. man i over shot it when i brought that fabric. a full dress, a top and i still have more. maybe I'll make a pair of pj shorts.

I've been working on figuring out how to make these socks.

 i found a pattern, but it only came in one size, i tried to make those socks and the leg was to tight for the slouchy sock style. so i took the pattern and added more stitches and knit straight so far they feel comfortable and loose. here's what i have so far

I will have to put these on the back burner because i need to work on items for a swap.

make me a hat swap. I'm looking at patterns, and trying to work with stash yarn because we don't have to much money right now.

i also learned to joy of overdrive. its a free service from your library so you can download audio books or e-books. I'm listening to "married with zombies"

and toby and i just started exericesing again. and let me tell you i hate it. my body hurts very much. in time im sure the pain will go away.

woo this post is way to wordy and rambin and such

ok so this all started off with me surfing cut out and keep. i saw these really cut paper flower. But I don’t have pretty paper then I remembered seeing fabric flower like that on craftster. But I didn’t know what they were called so I couldn't find them. so on to Google keyword fabric flowers. i got lots of different kinds but I was looking for what after ten minutes of crazy searching i found out was called [b]Tsusami Kanzahi[/b]. So I looked at all these different sites for tutorials that were easy to follow. Ehow was not the place they just tell you in words which doesn’t help me. So I went to the great and powerful YouTube and found this video. The girl in it I think her name is Sara; she was so cute and fluttered at times that I kept me watching her video above all others

 Ok so the first two I made where crazy messy. I just had to redo them. Then I followed the advice in the video and ironed my fabric, I don’t have starch so I didn’t do that. But the flowers after that turned out great.  It could have been the iron or the fact that I just practices making them for an hour.

i wanted to use up some of my crazy shape and little pieces fabric stash. So there is cotton, canvas, satin, fleece. I have a never ending bag of (fake/plated) gold and silver buttons so I used those. I like the silver more so yea. I found that the buttons will sink to the center of the flower. The only way that I have found to stop that is to sew a little circle on top of the center and sew the button to that. then you sew a clip, bobby pin or whatever to the back.

as im sure you can see this cat bed is way to small. i have no idea what size cat the person who made this pattern had. or my cat is just to fat i don't know. my other cat dexter can fit in it. i not sure if she like it or not. she like to sleep in uncomfortable places like toilet seats, piles of paper, table, drawers full of knitting needles.

the quilt top that killed two needles. i got kinda upset with this one. I wanted to try to machine sew a quilt. my machine is very tiny and cute like a my first sewing machine . i just don't think it was made for this. so i had to make sure the two seams weren't stacked on top of each other. and even then the machine/I hade a hard time going over the seams. so i looked up this issue and im a puller, which is a bad thing i guess but i taught myself to sew. so i dont know how to just guide the fabric i've tried and its a crazy hot mess. so i will just have to see what happens when i add batting and backing. a machine fire, fabric being eatten, my finger being sewn to the quilt.

the to small red and blue scarf , the blue was turned into a cat bed. so that was frogged. still working on the scroll scarf. i should be going to joanns today so i can get the yarn to the shawl.

the hairless wonder

So my cat has fleas. So far we have tried to use flea powder all over the house. and put flea medicine on the cat. an none of that worked. there are fewer fleas. but they are still here. think we might have to fog our house.

Toby was dog sitting a friends dog, a little hairless mess (my cat is the same size as the dog). because they were going to leave the dog in a bathroom for two days. and that dog did not like me at all, and loved Toby. i was yelling at Toby to wake him up and the dog was barking and jumping at me. so i went to hit Toby and i had to jump out the way so the darn thing wouldn't bite me.

so we went to work left the dog in our bedroom , so the cat wouldn't kill him. we come back home and he is sitting on our steps. so we look all around trying to figure out how he got out. he broke the screen and the blinds. Toby was so angry, until he realized that we some how gave this dog fleas. he only has hair on one spot on his head, paws, and tail. so we couldn't ask the owners to fix it after we got there dog all bit up.

I got a blister from being burned by the hot glue gun during some of these projects. this was my first time trying to do a feather head band. i got the feathers at a thrift shop, they only had yellow and black. the flower I've had for a while . the headbands i got on clearance for .10 at Kmart . and 90% of my yarn is donated to me, or swapped during yarn swap at knitting group.

I'm hoping this granny square a day will help to get my scrape blanket finished faster. the cuff is made with a used pop bottle, covered in felt so its not all painful, then covered in ribbon. next time i will use larger ribbon, and maybe a pringles can to make it stiffer. but then i would be afraid of it falling apart if it got wet.

all most done with my swap package.I'm going to work on the last item today while watching movies.its the best way to crochet/ knit. every other craft you need to have good mood music.i was listening to emeinem while making those headband. while sewing/ cutting fabric i like a little slower music.

I'm Dominique


I grow up in Toledo,Ohio. An moved to Ypsilanti ,Michigan when i was around 19. my mother had me when she was 14 so i was mostly raised by my grandma. I have one sister by my mother (Kayla), and my father is somewhat of rolling stone so i have 4 brothers and sisters that he claims. I'm only close to my Kayla.

I have been into art/crafts since i was very young. I even went to college for a little while to be an art teacher. but i realized i wasn't great at anything but art. i wasn't a great leader, and was bad at every other subject. so i dropped out. i was going to go back to be a social worker, but i never had the money to live and go to school.

I'm queer/ pansexual. I've known since i was 5. my boyfriend is FtM he came out to me three months into our relationship. we have been dating since 2004, after a friends birthday party got canceled . and we spent the night talking, i asked him out. we now live in Ypsilanti with our cat . we had a dog named Rosco, but he died. we had him for four years and he was always sick a few times a year

I was really into painting and drawing a few years ago. Then i was really into scrap booking. Then i was really into knitting. Now I'm really into crocheting. i also make jewelry, and things out of polymer clay. I've been trying to learn to sew but that's not clicking like everything before it. and I'm going to try to learn to embroidery.

When we moved to our trailer it had three bedrooms. It was one of the cheapest places we could get with the dog. an i got to keep one of the rooms to craft in. will crochet is a portable craft so i don't stay in that room unless I'm sewing. and yet it always get messed up. I get a lot of yarn donated to me, people find it and give it to me. so i have three large totes full of yarn. I make alot of charity items with it. but i just can't use it fast enough.

I like to make non use full items, cute things that just you just set up on a shelf. not like doilies,no. like clay foods, barbie dresses, game pieces glued to a pillow case. I like to change subject, my mind, and crafts often. i get bored with things if it doesn't happen fast enough. I don't really like kids, and I'm non-religious, but i like Christmas the fun parts.

I'm a very shy person, i don't talk much i mostly use my blog to talk for me. so when people meet me in real life they are very shock about this. I have two jobs, but still somehow craft more then other people. I think about my hair more then other people, i used to be obsessed with it
