3-14 pie day

pizza pie that is.

Zomg my beautiful toby tobes is thinking about going back to school. Yay, and oh no at the sametime. the last time toby went to school we lived with his mother for like a year or two. An we are adults and should act like them to. so were not going to go running crying home to momma. this means he wont be able to work as much. less money, less fun. I will be asking weekly for more hours at work or get a second job. Im to scared of working hard to help out. its just i love sleeping.

if all goes well in a few years we will have so much money i can buy these 40$ needles and this 50$ yarn . yes, yes, i have know idea why people need stuff that cost that much, but i want some too.

any way

I made a pillow to match the quilt

hand sewn with the left overs from the quilt

still working on the sweater, scarf, and now a little toy.

i think im going to run out of yarn for the scarf so i may start on making a pair of fingerless mitts. but goodness the weather went from winter to summer so quick i dont think i'll be  needing them. just watch its going to be a snow storm next week or something. silly global warming

3-8 about me

i deleted my face book account. but i still have a ton of other sites that i check non stop. i mean i have no idea how i did it but i just wasted like four hours online. talking about crafting but not doing it. i think that I'm going to have to put my self on an Internet diet and only get online like an hour a day.

I know that people say that they do this to get back to talking to people in real life. but i don't have anyone to talk to other then Toby which is why he get way to much of me in his face. everyone that i know leaves in Toledo. and I'm not great at making friends at all.

Toby says that i don't have conversations i just question people and they don't like that. i guess that i don't really know the difference. i don't know how to talk to people.

anyways. so far over the last month Toby and i have been trying to get healthier. we only get fast food like twice a week now. so I'm cooking dinner every night. and i work out like three to four days a week. i don't go as hard as he does. I just want to be healthy not thin.

3-8 swap package

here are the items that i made for my make me a hat swap

pattern - Knotty but Nice by Natalie Larson

how to make the hats i wanted to try out different sizes and random things. my swap partner said on here blog that she liked vintage humor like this
so i made the pill box hats which were popular at the time, and i made this speech bubbles, with cards that you can write your own saying on them

i used some plastic fabric and ironed around the edges to seam it. and just card stock inside.

my job was tossing out these curtain samples . i cut them in half and made these little pouches the drawstrings are crocheted

2-22

I finished four projects for my swap. but i can't post them yet. i have to wait until next payday at the beginning of next month.

I tried to work on Jessica's socks but that pattern is just not giving me what i want first try was to tight second try was to big so big i ripped back and made a baby hat with it

also Toby and i are trying to be heathyer. and my body is still not used to all the exercise, so i can only do four days a week. but some how Toby is up to almost everyday, going twice as long as me. anyway I'm down to 145. I've also been trying to watch what i eat and I'm looking up recipes too.

I'm working on making pillow covers for a fake swap I'm in . I'm trying to get two to four done by march fifteenth.

i also made one sock, and didn't have enough yarn to make the other. once i get a little more money i will buy the yarn to make a shawl and use the left overs to make the other sock

2-13

here's what I've finished

two hoops for my fake hoop swap the theme of the swap is silhouttes or negative space.
i found these pictures of cats in that rainbow of stitches book. and i think that capture my cats pretty well. sadly the fabric wasn't long enough for the hoops so there is a little space open at the top and bottom of both the hoops . but I'm no perfectionist so it doesn't bother me.

a better picture of the yarn

a shirt i made and a couple different ways you can wear it with the help of ribbon and i got the pattern here . I'm getting better at hemming but not by much. I like this top its my first. man i over shot it when i brought that fabric. a full dress, a top and i still have more. maybe I'll make a pair of pj shorts.

I've been working on figuring out how to make these socks.
i found a pattern, but it only came in one size, i tried to make those socks and the leg was to tight for the slouchy sock style. so i took the pattern and added more stitches and knit straight so far they feel comfortable and loose. here's what i have so far

I will have to put these on the back burner because i need to work on items for a swap.
make me a hat swap. I'm looking at patterns, and trying to work with stash yarn because we don't have to much money right now.

i also learned to joy of overdrive. its a free service from your library so you can download audio books or e-books. I'm listening to "married with zombies"

and toby and i just started exericesing again. and let me tell you i hate it. my body hurts very much. in time im sure the pain will go away.

2-9

i saw the article in crochet today about kool-aid dying party. and i think that will be a fun thing to do with the knitting group. so i wanted to try it out at home before i get a group of people to do it.
i don't really have any undyed yarn at home. so i used one of the many balls of crochet thread i had. also a ball of mystery yarn, i think its acrylic or cotton
you first have to wrap the balls into hanks. i used my sewing table. my crafting areas are always a mess.

then you soak the yarn in hot water for a half an hour

i only had fruit punch and lemon aid. then i also had the kind you pour into bottled water in grape.
i let the yarn soak in the colors for a half an hour.

i boiled each color for almost an hour each and the water never went clear . so the lemon color just was not doing anything it still looked white. I'm pretty sure that the tube kool-aid was a bad idea because it looked great until it came to rinsing the yarn. it all turned pink. a few shades lighter or darker pink.

for the mystery yarn i just left it in the bowl for three hours. then rinsed. it also ended up pink. and the colored stayed so i think that the yarn if cotton.

and i let the yarn dry overnight

once it was dry there was less color changes. I'm not really happy with the yarn.

and my hand is bight red
