Its been a while 2/21

So i started selling my hand made items on etsy in 2013. and i started craft-shows in 2014. I'm not a great sells man . I really don't know how to run a business, and i don't think i really want to . I just want to craft what i want and have people to give it to ya know.

So for the past couple of years i have been making between 100-300 items just to sell.and my hands have suffered for it a little .i started getting hand cramps more often then anyone under 30 should. So this year im trying to slow down. im doing more cross-stitch / embroidery , now thats a slow craft. Im thinking of doing more charity knits.

im slowly trying to either sell, or just donate all the stock from my that1girl business. thats not to say i wont make more to sell. but im going to be moving sometime this year, to a smaller place i need to get all my craft supplies and stock to fit in the cubes i have. An my husband is so busy with school/ work that he cant take me to as many shows .

I've meet alot of cool ladies thanks to that1girl online and at shows. I started going to a new knitting group this year also. It meets at a coffee shop/ bar. I now have two groups i can go to every week. my doctor told me that making more friends and leaving the house would help with my SAD. I do get happier around mon and tues.

I have been trying a little harder to stick to a more natural/ healthier diet this time around. Its a light paleo diet where i eat meat, fruit, veggies, and nuts. and a very small amount of dairy, premade/ packaged food, and sugar. and almost never grains, coffee, chocolate . i love all of these things but they do give me upset stomach . So i just try to not eat it , but mac and cheese singing to me, pizza seduces me, and baked goods call to me everyday.

I think thats all i have for today. here are some pictures also add me to instagram that1girl734 to see pics on a weekly base.

yarn embroidery floss

pattern - Thread Crochet Flower Hair Clipsby Connie Lee
hook 1.65
yarn embroidery floss

pattern- off the cuff
fabric- thifted, and stash
hot glue
took at least four or five hours. I copied the letters off the computer. cut them out to this dark blue fabric. cut 7x7 triangles.
hot glued the letters to the main fabric.I really could have zigzag stitched them but i didn't want to spend the time doing that. sewed fronts to backs flipped them right side out and it was to puffy, so i ironed them flat. I used some bias tape that i had left over from other projects and things. i did a little decorative stitch on my banner. i got to the third letter and it was going to slow i just switched over to straight stitch. but it would look odd to have it just on one end so i had to do the decorative stitch at the other end.
I also did one for Jessica i learned my lesson and just did straight stitch on the whole thing. theres not much ribbon on the ends to tie then to anything so I have to use safety pins

pattern- Summer Cotton Crocheted Braceletby Jennifer Pedersen-Giles
hook D
yarn- crochet thread size 3, 10
beads, clasp, jump rings

this project helped get my bead stash down. they took about a half and hour each. the necklace tangles so much.

pattern- Turn A Squareby Jared Flood
needles -5,7
 this hat turned out kinda big

pattern - diy
needles 5, 10
yarn- kool-aid dyed yarn

this one i didn't have much yarn and this turned out small

pattern- none
fabric- i think i got this at walmart

I made these to hold some of my money at the craft show. I also tried more stitches. I don't like the satin stitches they just use lots of thread. the hooks are really hard to get in just the right positions so they lay flat

pattern- made it up
hook G
yarn- thrift blanket

I wanted to colors to look better when they changed to the next so i did double crochet front post back post on the color change round.

January 2011

I skipped December i guess. so here's the update.

I finished that sweater like the day after my last blog post. craft pictures

by not adding the hood i had a very large v going on. so i added buttons to make it close up. it looks nice with a shirt under. or i can leave it unbuttoned and have a collar look going on.

I  finished up all my crafting for the True Blood swap. my partner h00lie liked it here's a group shot.

a sookie doll, cross stitch bookmark, stitched picture, crochet pillow, crochet cowl, knit fingerless gloves, and a jewelry set.

two barbie outfits for a winter barbie CAL ,the sweater on top is what mines was supposed to had looked like.

my stash is getting smaller, but then i go more yarn for the holiday, and I'm giving some away once i get to the post office

and of course my mom wanted me to make her a table clothe with tan/brown yarn. so i have to buy more.

the only two holiday gifts i made last year a scarf for my mom and towels for my boyfriend

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK So last year i made or remembered to post about 140 projects. lets see how many  projects i can finish this year. a few thing that I'm working on right now or planning.
a baby blanket for my cousins baby, she doesn't know what it is yet so i making it with a greenish blue color. if she doesn't like it then I'm sure someone else would like it. Its going to be knit using a chart i found in the new stitch n bitch book, superstar knitting. its a leaf pattern. the original project is for a purse.
i also want to start making a few little things to sell. i might try to do flea markets on the day s that my boyfriend can take me. or craft shows, yard sales when i can find them for cheap.
so i need to look thought my collection of books and magazines. Did you know that there is a new magazine called "knitting today" yes from the makers of "crochet today" so now I'm subscribed for both, yay. I'm trying to get the Belleville library to carry them both. but my know small town libraries they don't have much of any thing. it looks like the last craft books they got in were from the early 90's.  So i still have to go to the city  to get good books.
I'm also giving sewing another go. i just have to find a good project i think i got ahead of my self with that dress this summer. and i haven't looked twice at the machine. I'm thinking a quilt, not like a crazy one maybe like a t-shirt quilt.
OK that's all I've got for now
craft fair FAIL
So I made tons of items for this craft fair. I handmade price tags, bags, signs. I was really happy with everything i did.
the day came .Toby woke up late and we didn't leave until 7:30. Then there was a road closer so we had to go a different way. we got into Temprance at about 8:20 but we were hungry so we so we didn't get to the church until like 8:50. We didn't know how to set up our canopy, we had to get tons of help with that. My table was to small for all my items. We forgot our chairs so we had to get some from a friend.
I only had three sales all day and two of them were to people I knew. I didn't even make the 10$ back from the cover fee. so i lost money being there. from gas, cover fee, and not just working the day. Then it started raining and what ever people that might have been look where scared away. then i got my fingers smashed trying to take the canopy down.
i'm not even sure if i want to try to do another craft fair again. i mean if this is how its going to be every time then its not fun. not that many people came.l I was most upset that nobody from my family came, not a one. and everyone in jessicas family came. heck they helped her sell.
so to be such a downer, but i just need to get this off my chest.
