here's what I've finished

two hoops for my fake hoop swap the theme of the swap is silhouttes or negative space.

i found these pictures of cats in that rainbow of stitches book. and i think that capture my cats pretty well. sadly the fabric wasn't long enough for the hoops so there is a little space open at the top and bottom of both the hoops . but I'm no perfectionist so it doesn't bother me.

I like this top its my first. man i over shot it when i brought that fabric. a full dress, a top and i still have more. maybe I'll make a pair of pj shorts.

I've been working on figuring out how to make these socks.

i found a pattern, but it only came in one size, i tried to make those socks and the leg was to tight for the slouchy sock style. so i took the pattern and added more stitches and knit straight so far they feel comfortable and loose. here's what i have so far

I will have to put these on the back burner because i need to work on items for a swap.

make me a hat swap. I'm looking at patterns, and trying to work with stash yarn because we don't have to much money right now.

i also learned to joy of overdrive. its a free service from your library so you can download audio books or e-books. I'm listening to "married with zombies"

and toby and i just started exericesing again. and let me tell you i hate it. my body hurts very much. in time im sure the pain will go away.

i saw the article in crochet today about kool-aid dying party. and i think that will be a fun thing to do with the knitting group. so i wanted to try it out at home before i get a group of people to do it.

i don't really have any undyed yarn at home. so i used one of the many balls of crochet thread i had. also a ball of mystery yarn, i think its acrylic or cotton

you first have to wrap the balls into hanks. i used my sewing table. my crafting areas are always a mess.

then you soak the yarn in hot water for a half an hour

i only had fruit punch and lemon aid. then i also had the kind you pour into bottled water in grape.

i let the yarn soak in the colors for a half an hour.

i boiled each color for almost an hour each and the water never went clear . so the lemon color just was not doing anything it still looked white. I'm pretty sure that the tube kool-aid was a bad idea because it looked great until it came to rinsing the yarn. it all turned pink. a few shades lighter or darker pink.

for the mystery yarn i just left it in the bowl for three hours. then rinsed. it also ended up pink. and the colored stayed so i think that the yarn if cotton.

and i let the yarn dry overnight

once it was dry there was less color changes. I'm not really happy with the yarn.

detangled on dry hair

here are some hair pictures. i wasn't able to wear a hat for a few days i had my hair out and about. i was half tempted to make a ear band with a button . because even normal headband type ones don't fit over my hair with ease.

its not good for my hair to be out to long. so i re braided it and trimmed about two inches off each braid. i think i need to trim a little more. i only do it twice a year.

i made this blanket with 84 stitches to start with. did 10 rows of white, then 4 of the black/gray. just keep on with that for 104 rows. then i started the edging and that was more boring then the garter stitch section so i only did half. the blanket came out 36x 32.

I'm going to try to make at least two hats a month for knit Michigan . i still ha vent heard back from the friends of the library about selling items at the book sale. so i think that i might have to set up my own thing. which I've never done before. because I'm not a leader, so I'm going to try to get some help from a few people at the group.

so i worked the lace while on breaks and lunches at work. and i worked on the body at home. it took about two weeks doing it that way. so i would say that you can finish this in three days . I'm not really sure what i did but i made this uneven. I did mess up on the lace bit a lot forgot to do yarn overs and k2togs here and there. and oh how i hate picking up stitches.

Oh did that yarn bleed. i washed a item for the first time and I'm glad i did. or all my clothes would be discolored. and i read that some on washed it with out it getting felted which means i can toss it in the wash, yay. and i blocked it out, I'm trying to block out my lacy stuff. i used dress makers pins and the floor. and poor love stepped on a pin. which means that he was walking on my scarf, but i felt bad for him first.

I love a good flower hair thing. and the fact that these tie means that they will fit even the most fluffy hair. I made all the flowers first so the headbands i tried to match up as much as best i could.

the flowers can be moved up and down the strands of the headband. each took about a half and hour or so

I tried to sew the backing to one of these and it looked so bad. i just used some tacky glue (not sure that's the name of it) and black fabric. trimmed it up and there good to go

starting the Hap blanket. using lion brand pound of love doubled and Loops & Threads Charisma that i got in a swap. keeping track of rows in garter stitch is pretty hard and cats love to steal row counters. also that's my new foxy shazam CD just came in the mail yesterday.

I'm working on far to many things at once. I'm going back into that bad habit. OK I'm going to try to get back into finishing something before i start a new thing. but there are so many fun things to make and do i just don't stay in track.

OK here what I'm going on right now.

mini books i used this tutorial . i used a holiday gift box one side made all these books. I used different types of paper: constitution, card stock, printer. for the covers i used a few magazine and scrap booking paper. I decided not to use ribbon because i only have purple for some reason. so you can see the stitching on the sides of the books. i don't think it looks all that bad. I think it took me like six hours to make all of these. I broke one needle trying to go through a book with to much card stock. over all i would say that it was a fun project.

it take about a half and hour to make each heart. so i would not recommend these for fundraising or craft fairs. I'm sure that it would go a little faster if it was crocheted and you could just have flat hearts . the knitting ones curl if you don't sew them.

I'm using different kinds of yarn left over sock yarn, crochet thread size 3, and what ever thin yarn i can find. i ran out of fiber fill so I'm using left over batting, which is the same to me, just a little stiffer .

I'm using up some of the random worsted weight yarn . i have a ton of flowers now i just have to make the headbands and sew together.

I'm cross-stitching and embroidering bookmarks. not really sure how I'm going to do the backing. i could use spray glue and fabric, sew and turn to give it a really nice finish, or just sew a patch of the cross-stitch fabric to just the part with color.

and i just started on Toby's valentines crafting. he chose a foxy shazam theme. so I'm going to make a picture with has favorite lyrics. "life is a bitch but she's totally doable"

howdy hi

I don't know how far long ago it was but i would say when i first wanted to make clothes, maybe two years ago. I started a dress. me and the machine were not friends at all. it took me a month to put together a dress then when it was time to put the zipper in i realized i made it to small. I placed the whole thing into a bag at the bottom of my fabric box.

I took it all out a day or so ago. i was going to add an extra panel. but i was out of the extra fabric. i had been using it for other project over the year. and the fabric that had the colors of the dress had to bold of a pattern. so that idea was out. I tosses the bodice back into the box and just finished the skirt. I sewed up the sides and added an elastic waist and called it a day. since this skirt was made to be worn high on the waist if i wear it at my hips it tooks crazy long here are some pictures

that tee and skirt combo was a no go. but it looks good with the sweater. and if it looks uneven in the pictures that because it is. i was just learning how to sew. so most of the seams go from 1/4in - 1in and i don't want to change it.

I'm working on making things for the library to raise money for the crafting group. I don't think the library should have to take money away from other programs. so I'm trying to make as many little things that i can sale at a book sale.

I went to joanns planning on getting some yarn to finish my shawl and knit a sweater for my mom. then i went to the pattern section. I have make a well fitting clothing on my project list. and i found a bunch of cute dresses that i wanted to make. but i was really stuck on this one, i went back and forth about buying it on sale it was 10.99. i mean come on that much just for a pattern and the paper is thinner then printer paper.

I wanted to try to make it with a really nice fabric. not really a good idea if your just starting out. but you know go big or go home. so i went for silky/ satin material. i got three yards and two different prints it was around 20$ each for those. so i put back the yarns that i had picked up. but i was so excited to be making the dress.

i went home and just started cutting. i went for the shorter dress. and i went for size 12 in the pattern. but if it was a tight dress i would've had to go with a size 16. i tell you patterns in juniors run small.

i made the whole dress in a day, around six hours.

woo this post is way to wordy and rambin and such

ok so this all started off with me surfing cut out and keep.i saw these really cut paper flower. But I don’t have pretty paper then Iremembered seeing fabric flower like that on craftster. But I didn’t know whatthey were called so I couldn't find them. so on to Google keyword fabricflowers. i got lots of different kinds but I was looking for what after tenminutes of crazy searching i found out was called [b]Tsusami Kanzahi[/b]. So Ilooked at all these different sites for tutorials that were easy to follow. Ehowwas not the place they just tell you in words which doesn’t help me. So I wentto the great and powerful YouTube and found this video. The girl in it I thinkher name is Sara; she was so cute and fluttered at times that I kept mewatching her video above all others

Ok so the first two I made where crazy messy. I just had toredo them. Then I followed the advice in the video and ironed my fabric, I don’thave starch so I didn’t do that. But the flowers after that turned outgreat. It could have been the iron orthe fact that I just practices making them for an hour.

i wanted to use up some of my crazy shape and little piecesfabric stash. So there is cotton, canvas, satin, fleece. I have a never endingbag of (fake/plated) gold and silver buttons so I used those. I like the silvermore so yea. I found that the buttons will sink to the center of the flower. Theonly way that I have found to stop that is to sew a little circle on top of thecenter and sew the button to that. then you sew a clip, bobby pin or whatever to the back.

as im sure you can see this cat bed is way to small. i have no idea what size cat the person who made this pattern had. or my cat is just to fat i don't know. my other cat dexter can fit in it. i not sure if she like it or not. she like to sleep in uncomfortable places like toilet seats, piles of paper, table, drawers full of knitting needles.

the quilt top that killed two needles. i got kinda upset with this one. I wanted to try to machine sew a quilt. my machine is very tiny and cute like a my first sewing machine . i just don't think it was made for this. so i had to make sure the two seams weren't stacked on top of each other. and even then the machine/I hade a hard time going over the seams. so i looked up this issue and im a puller, which is a bad thing i guess but i taught myself to sew. so i dont know how to just guide the fabric i've tried and its a crazy hot mess. so i will just have to see what happens when i add batting and backing. a machine fire, fabric being eatten, my finger being sewn to the quilt.

the to small red and blue scarf , the blue was turned into a cat bed. so that was frogged. still working on the scroll scarf. i should be going to joanns today so i can get the yarn to the shawl.

oh boy i forgot i was supposed to be making scarfs for the special Olympics. the website says to use red heart yarn. but the deadline date is the 10th and i don't have money to go and buy the yarn. so i made one scarf using the Caron simply soft yarn i have.

then i went to knitting group and was put to shame when the other member who i told about the months ago had someone drop off her scarfs she made three. and as you can see the right brand is alot brighter. so i don't know if i should even send in my scarf.

speaking of knitting group. I tried to help a mother and daughter learn to knit. the mother got it really quickly and was knitting with in an hour. and little girl of maybe 10. oh my she was getting it at first. then i turned my back and her knitting loops where huge. so i watch to see what she as doing. she was holding the needles 4 inches apart. pulling the loop though the knit stitch with her teeth. i think she was just frustrated by that point. but she got all the 50 stitches from the left needle to the right one way or another. and her mother wanted to save the messy first try. so i slipped what ever i could onto a string. the girl looked upset that her mother wanted to keep it.

OK so to get the curls i used an eHow tute . you make a slip knot then wrap it like a curler. then take a sewing needle and go under two wraps. i did this around knitting needles and got about six curls per needle. you spray with water. i preheat the over to 350, then turned it off once i put the tray in. left it in for about five minutes. I had to make about 50-60 curls for this dolls head to not look thin.

then i sewed the dress. but i couldn't think of an easy way to get it on and off. so i sewed straps. but they are to big so i had to make i knot, then tie that with a little bow. i hope the child can figure it out.

I'm working on another Ripley hat. one of my sisters asked me to make her a hat and scarf set. I'm not making the mittens. i don't have enough yarn for that.

I'm making the hat using magic loop I'm trying to get good at it so that i can get to a level that i can make two at a time socks. then my socks will be that same size. both to big or to small.

this i the last night that i have to work overnights. then if it doesn't snow Toby might take me to Toledo. since none of my family volunteered to pick me up :{

I set up my holiday tree and everything. it only stayed up for about two day. my cats kept taking things off the tree. and eating it so i didn't want to deal with that for weeks. here's what it looked like

I also cut up some squares to make quilts. i got these fleece throws on sale for like 3.99 at Kmart's. and some of the fabric came from wal-mart, some from Joann's.

i don't know when I'll sew these i guess after i finish up with all these holiday gifts that people will be getting after the holidays

ok so a guy from work asked me to make him a hat . i said 10$ please. i was not given the 10$ but still made the hat. when i gave it to him , he didnt like it. he said that he wanted camo print. well i thought that the hat looked plenty camo. i guess not. and i didnt get my money. and he wants me to make another hat so if i do choose to make this hat i have to go out and buy the multi colored yarn to get this effect. and i will have to wait until i get paid on the 10th. then i would only be making 5$ off the sale.

I got my crayons for two dollars in a jumbo sized ziploc and the board for .10 cents pretty cheap right

i plan on making more of these with posterboard or stronger.

some of the crayons slipped out of the paper. and i also made some with out papter at all. and they came off before melting the yellow picture you can see it.

now how would one display this art. I dont have the money to buy frames. so i will just give them to people and say figure it out.

ok so i was thinking sewing up stuffed animals has to be quicker and easier then knit/crocheting them all. well i tried to make monsters and they just didn't turn out well at all. i kinda feel ashamed to even give these to the kids. this was kinda my first go at this. and i did it with out patterns. so maybe i shouldn't be so hard on my self. my first couple of knitting projects didn't turn out all that great.

ok so i gave in and started making items for the little ones. it also knocks a few items off my cover to cover list .

I got these rolls of tule or mesh at a yard sale/thift shop/ gifted, a while ago . and im trying to stash down as much as i can all the time so that i can get new stuff. so i used it plus some ribbon i've had for a while to to make tutes. i dont know what size children are so i made two with a ribbon waist and one with just elastic waist of 22. will they fit or even be used i dont know .

to make them i did it all by hand each took about 30 minutes or so. i did a running stitch then gathered every couple of inches (i dont know if these are real terms) once i got to 20 inches along the sewn edge i started sewing it to the middle of the ribbon. so there is about four inches on both sides for ties. and the elastic one is just a 22 inch waist.

these are for a 6,5, and 1 year old kids. what do you think?

and im working on stuffed animals for the boys. the first one i have is kinda but not really from my c2c list its an animal by ysolda

cute right and its not taking to long im on the body now after just a day.

putting this item for me on the back burner. and only working on it durning work breaks. its not to hard for a lace item. or to small thats what i hate about lace to small and hard.

I wish i could think of something to make for toby. but he is not a big fan of crafted items. he is majorly picky. he told me to get him a gift card. im sure i can find something at a store.

this is the list of things that i have to finish by may 25. that when i started this. I don't want to bog this post down with a million pictures. I've bolded the ones that i finished, you can find them on my ravelry page, craftster or some where on this blog with the title cover2cover. woo i have a lot of work a head of me. maybe i should only work on items from my list for like a month or something.

I'm not sure if i want to make items for all the little in my family. that's a lot of kids i only see once a year. so i guess we'll see sometimes its just fun making kids items.

so here's somethings I've made

paisley coaster set. i used some kind of paint stuff, called slick . it says its dimensional fabric paint oppps lets hope it doesn't peel off. the coasters are really tiles. i got them at the reuse center its a part hardware store part thrift shop. i just copied off pictures of the design i saw online.

if there is a way to take pictures of these i haven't found it. they are glass ornements with glitter paint. with snowflakes, iciles swirls, bows.

stitch markers. used eyepins, because i didnt have the ones with the flat bottoms.

im working on for my big project the ishbel shawl with rainbow colored yarn.

still thinking of what i can do with my gingerbreadman fabric. maybe a tree skirt make my tree all pretty or would the cats just mess with the tree even more if i do that. they do love looking under things. maybe a nice cheesy apron. or a skirt but would i really wear it? i could do a blanket just for decoration for the couch or something.

oh man i still have a half finshed quilt for the summer that i should work on.

I made three things while i was out there for two days

well now im on midnight shift 10pm- 6am

im hoping to be able to still go to knitting group every wendsday but im not sure if i will be able to keep up with it for the next month.

almost done with my swap project not sure what to make next. im sure i will find something. im still trying to finish the three books that i choose to do a cover to cover with.

I finished two pairs of earrings and two t-shirt necklaces today

tute for necklaces

earrings are basically the only kind i know how to make simple beads on a hoop. I like the effect of the beads. I got the beads at wal-mart , metal parts at Jo-Ann's and Micheal's .

the t-shirts were my boyfriends shirts. i used a few old and broken jewelry.

i also worked on my swap project for a few episodes/hours. I have to wait until i get paid to get more things for the swap so I'm just going to take my time with the project.

OK so I've been wanting to make my own clothes forever. I've tried and tried and tried. me and my sewing machine don't always see eye to eye. and i some how can mess up the easiest patterns. I've made a skirt and a dress they didn't fit or were lumpy somehow.

I've been longly looking at things on crafter.org . and i looked at a few patterns i wanted to give it a try this was the best skirt and easy tut i found. maybe it has something to do with the fact that i find her hot but i like this video

I made the skirt part and i didn't have enough fabric. so the skirt was like really short. I'm not sure if these two fabrics should be mixes. they might be different materials , I'm not one who knows these things. i got my fabric at Joann's.

i made it and it fits. oh the joy i felt until i realized that its way to short. i cant wear it with out tights under it. i think i might see if my little sister wants it. I'm not sure what her size or style is.

so next time I'm going to try to make it longer. i have some holiday fabric that i didn't end up using for my swap so maybe i will make a skirt with it

so my boyfriend was supposed to be making my computer faster. he brought all these parts and messed around in there for like a couple of weeks. then he broke something in there that couldn't be fixed. so my last post was the day before he broke it. got a new laptop yesterday.

I got it from wal-mart pluged it in nothing popped up , so i let it charge, still nothing. took it back to the walmart they didnt have another one at the time. went to target they had nothing. went to staples the one that i just got at walmart was 100.00$ more for no reason. so we went to the next walmart they didnt even sell it. so i got my money back. went to the next walmart the next town over. and they had it yea. i got the replacement plan because if it doesnt work right from the store it might just break with in a month. got home and it worked perfect.

I still think that i like a good desktop better. but i can take this from room to room all two rooms in my apartment.

im planning on going to visit my mom for her birthday 21st. then i go on to 10pm-6am shift for a month . I've always wanted to go to black friday sales but i have to work every year. i mean i dont have anyone to really buy for. im working on a holiday swap, and a few items for my family. i got a few plastic ornaments i want to make lace coverings.

OK this is going to be a big post since i guess i forgot to post here for two months.

I made Toby Rainbow cupcakes for his birthday. Making these is really messy and there is alot of stirring to get the color right. but they turn out great. i added about 6-8 drops of color to each of the six bowls. just so you know gummy bears do not like frosting they all slid off .

we also got new piercings for his birthday, after this picture was taken

these were made for a local attraction swap. Michigan doll jacket, apple blossom hair clip and a toy robin

thees pillow cases were a gift to Toby for our anniversary 9-11-04. he saw them online and no one was paying 35$ for pillowcases

the sweater turned out majorly big. but it might fit my mom so its not a lost cause. i made sleeve and they were like past my fingertips so i just went with short sleeves instead

ok this blanket is made up of tons of those granny's daughter squares and then crocheted into a nine block square and that's crocheted into bigger block. i gave this to a old R.A.Y friend for he baby. its machine wash and dry so its easy care

this hat was made for a friend for he birthday. i kinda ran out of yarn near the end but the other yarn was kinda close in size and color

hat made as a going away gift for my brother. he is going into training for the navy.

i wanted to try out a new crochet stitch its called brick stitch

I'm starting to make more items to sell. Once we work out the details I'm going to try to sale my items in a friends resale shop. since i sale my items at retail prices anyways. I mean people have told me that i don't sell anything because people think that a cheap price means a cheap product. well all i know is i wouldn't pay 30$ for one darn hat or 20$ for a pair of crocheted earrings. i make things for real people.

ok so I haven't finished anything this week. I don't know why but I'm really into working on blankets this week. here are all of my WIP's. I have alot of acrylic yarn that was given to me when people found out that i started knitting/ crocheting. so i have been using most of it over the years to make blankets. some go to people i know some i just leave outside on picnic tables. I never get around to getting them to people who need them. but my library knitting group is thinking about starting charity projects. and a new member says she has 10 garbage bags full of yarn. she like 60 and says she will never use it all up. so I don't think i will have an issue of finding yarn to finish my millions of WIP's

So many people say that you get the color on the box if you have dark hair. well maybe my hair is just stubborn or something because i didn't get bronze i got copper.

I'm working on items for gift baskets for the summer reading program themes Food, Music, Movies, and travel. I was making popcorn for the movie basket but they don't look that great so i will have to think of something else. Hilliary wanted slippers for the travel on so they are done. I picked up a book from the library. Tasty crochet i need to just go a head and buy this book i keep renting it for libraries. Now i just need to think of something for music and movies. ideas ?

I'm working on items for the hair accessories swap. My partner is TrickyMcVomit. These are some of the items I'm going to try to make things out of

I made one headband but ended up hating it. I don't even know what to do with it. But the was a part of the headband that i liked so I'm going to keep those elements. Now I'm working on a few items based on her wists.

tickets are paid for 80$ I guess Toby wanted to pay for them now so that they wouldn't sell out and he would have more motivation.

I really hope it sticks this time. I'm upping my water intake and trying to cut down the amount that i eat while here's a picture. I look really unhappy in them

yesterday i speed walked on the treadmill for about 30mins and tried to do the bike but i was to tired.

today I'm hoping to go 30min at 2.5 and try a little yoga. drink six cups of water and no pop.

i keep trying to get Toby to do it with me he wont even walk to down town with me it not even a two miles away

6-8 Dont Panic! just scream

I was supposed to have written about the concert a lot earlier.

Toby and I went to the Panic! at the Disco concert last Saturday. We left for Detroit around 5:30ish and got there around 6:20. When we got there we had to stand in a line that wrapped around two street its was crazy. An just from looking at the line i can tell you what panic's fan base is Gay guys, emo kids and an boat load of girls.

So anyways we were behind the most annoying teenagers ever. they just talked and talked about nothing. and were playing with a water bottle and kept saying " you dropped you water bottle" and would throw it on the ground. It almost hit Toby. then they started yelling at people walking passed to stop smoking and all that stuff. So Toby started smoking and none of them turned around or said a thing to him. which i found funny do we look like we could kick butt.

Ok we get inside at 6:45. they take my back pack and only took out the pop bottle. they didn't check for weapons only food!? so we got down to the main floor and got ready to stand and fight our way to the front.

I heard Foxy shazam for the first time. they are great. maybe a little to rock n rock for that show

And Fun. so beautiful. i don't know if people say dreamy any more but yes, Yes mmmm

ok by this point in the show we were six rows from the stage. and people were pushing and pulling and passing out. I don't think I've had that much boob and back sweat on me in my life, gross.

Then Panic! came on and Screaming non-stop. That who everyone came to see. so were got about three rows from the stage. and there was dancing and singing and fun had by all. they played like magic. there was people crowd surfing the person in front of me got kicked in the face. Toby lost his wallet and someone gave it back (missing 40$). but people stopped pushing and being crazy once panic was playing. I would say that i was there second greatest concert. because nothing can top a fever you can't sweat out tour, there were clowning and dancing on stage then.
A just wish i could put into word better how much fun it was .

50. Baby jacket

ok I'm not good at picking up stitches in knitting or crochet so this is what it looked like at first. i just couldn't let it leave my house looking all messy like that. so I re did the edging. i counted 40 stitches up both sides. i wish the pattern would have given me a number. goodness.

A little better i still don't like the sleeves much they look like bell bottoms. but that the best that i could do with them.

forgot to post about the quilt i finished.
so martina is having a boy. not really sure what to do with the pink one. its not good enough to sell. i'll find some one to give it away to. any ways

the top is hand sewn. and i quilted it all together with the sewing machine. and yes it tried to eat my quilt every 10 miniutes. i was getting feed up with it. but pushed though it. It wasn't all that hard to use the machine once you got past the jams. I think that it looks alot better then the first but i still need to learn more.

I likes to free style it so not every thing was straight . and i had to hand sew some of the edges to keep the batting from coming out.

I used scraps from my other projects and i found the cloud backing at a thrift shop for like 1.50. i'm using the left ove fabric as a table cloth right now. it brakes up all the black in my house.

I haven't posted in a while so i guess i just gave up on that craft a day thing half way thought the month but that's OK. I'm not a planner or one who can follow the rules.

oh I'm in another swap this one is swap on a budget 20$ budget to get , yarn, and extras. you also have to add one handmade item. but as i said i can't stick to rules. so i just keep adding things. which is what happens with every swap I'm in. i love making things.

I ordered cascade 220 to make a hoodie i hope 6 skeins will be enough i can always buy more later i guess. so that's all I'm working on.

now on my list of being a kick but crafter i really didn't see quilting being one. that was until i saw cool art quilt. i really liked it, because it doesn't have to fit perfectly, like the other things I've sewn

so i wanted to learn the basic with very basic quilt. I really didn't even look for help until i got to the quilting it all together. so I'm sure that its all wrong.

I used the left over fabrics from some of my other sewing projects. I don't know how to use my sewing machine with out it freaking out. so this is all hand sewn. one thing i must say is i don't like how it has all these little knots from starting new thread. so next time i will have to look into how to prevent it.but other then that i think it went well.

Have i told you about this knitting today, they keep sending me my magazines a month late. i have no idea why. i emailed them about it and they just told me they have until the sell by date to get it to me. which didn't make me the happiest camper. but i kinda like the magazine.its no knit.1 but its better then most

So this thing a day

day 1

embroidered hoop with a picture of me and my love. i used some chalk stuff, that i found in my donation box. i love it when i finally have a use for the things that people donate to me.

day 2

needle books. As soon buy some more needles I'd like to not lose them all again. the first one is scraps for some of my other projects. the second one is just some felt.

day 3

Baby booties. I don't know how big babies feet are but these seem way to big. so i guess they can just be a decoration. i made them for my soon to be second cousin yea the one that i don't know the gender of yet

day 4

some valentines bead. they are made of polymer clay . i haven't made anything with my clay in a while. they were all dried out and hard to work with . i used some liquid clay to soften. them up.

day 5

jewelry made from those beads. the necklace is a little ugly, so I'm just going to use it as garland or something. I really love the earrings. and i wore the charm bracelet to work and lost a charm.

day 6

I worked on a row of my quilt. and knit a couple of rounds of my sock. and tried to make a crochet beaded bracelet that i saw on knit and crochet now it looked all easy on TV. not so in real life. i guess that kinda thing takes a lot of practice.

So i'm only to the leg of one sock. i got a bit bored with it. i don't see knee highs in my furter.

I finished two stuffed cat toys one looks a little better then the other. i got my other copy of stitch n bitch. and toby say a tiger toy now he wants me to make him that one. it will have to wait

I made a few ribbon flowers yesterday. the cats love to steal the puffy ones

then i wanted to use my sewing machine. i pulled out all my fabrics. all my patterns. an none of it sparked anything in me. then i remembered that i wanted to try to make a quilt this year. an my cousin is having a baby. may as well start off small right. she doesn't know if she is having a boy or girl yet. but i had a larger collection of girl colors, so yea. if she has a boy then i don't know what im going to do with it.

I have all of the stripes sewn.now i have to sew the stripes into one big block. then im not to sure about the rest. i looked at craftster and that helped alot. now i just need to keep going with my gut and im sure it well turn out ok right?

i've been working on this sock for the past week. i have had to rip back twice and completly undo it once. after that i kinda lost a little love for the sock. and im not as into it as i was . so i have started one knit hat and two toy cats. i also undid that baby blanket i was working on because i knew i wasnt going to get around to make it.

I had to undo my twist and undoing them while there dry is painful and takes a while

even with the dye in you can just tell its not going to work out

An this week i was on my way to the library. so i decided i have all these hats that i was just going to drop in the donation box (but never got around to it). why no do donations in a fun way. I think most of the hat were picked up by kids on there way home.because when i drove by to show my boyfriend my work a few of the hats were going out of the trees.

I tested this pattern out for a online friend. once she works out all the kinks i will post a link to the pattern.
it's an easy beginners lace knitting hat. i used Caron simply soft yarn, and size 10 needles.

So a friend saw the hat that i made for Jessica on my facebook page and she wanted on. i make more sales on facebook then i do on that darn etsy page that i pay for.

used Vanna's choice yarn. I really enjoy that yarn. it may become my new simply soft.
size 3 and 9 needles. I also did cabling with out the cable needle for this hat. it wasn't as hard as i thought it would be. i didn't lose any stitches. well almost a few times.
she wanted a slouchier version of the Gretel. so it did take a 100 more yards of yarn. and i think that it looks better then the beret version .

I'm working on a shawl and a purse right now. I had a heck of a time trying to think of what i should make next. I tried to make this purse three times yesterday. I messed up the lace pattern twice and i tried to make it with two purses at once but the yarn kept getting tangled. but its going smoothly now. and the shawl is the sweet pea shawl from the happy hooker, its really easy but eats yarn. so i think i may have to restart it with a yarn that i have a lot of or try to sell it for a little bit of money

five projects completed so far this month

this hat was finished on new years eve , so I'm just counting it as a 2011 project. the hat is for my friend Jessica. who just said I want a beret, in green. that is all. so i figure if she really feels the need to pay me for what i do all day every day. I need to kick it up a notch this is the first project that i have done with this complex a cable pattern. it was like now two rounds where the same. I personally don't like the color green, but i had it in stash (donated) and need to use it for something.

I used size 5 and 7 needles, the yarn was an old red heart skein in worsted weight , pattern

I also was a little bored at my mothers house while i was on a visit so i made the same hat in bulky yarn with size 15 needles. then i was running low on yarn so it ended up being a convertable cowl hat. its not the prettiest thing i've made but its super warm.

Then i felt bad about not finishing off jessicas item so that she could give it as a christmas gift so i made her something extra. its a extra slouchy hat , with a dimond pattern.

using size 10 needles and red heart worsted weight yarn.

I got the Amigurumi Knits book from the library I really wanted to make something from this book for a while. but i found alot of those patterns to hard. so i started out with the Earthworm by Hansi Singh . using size 3 needles simply soft yarn. everything was going fine until i had to do the picking up of stitches and kitchner stitch. I don't like either of them. I guess that i need to practice them a little more if i want to grow up to be a superstar knitter. I left the worm in a pot at the library. i wonder if they've found it yet.

then i got a little brave and tried to do the spider. it took a pretty long time and it didn't turn out well at all. my sewing and picking up stitches messed the whole thing up. but toby likes it and thats who i made it for so i guess thats all that matters.

I skipped December i guess. so here's the update.

I finished that sweater like the day after my last blog post. craft pictures

by not adding the hood i had a very large v going on. so i added buttons to make it close up. it looks nice with a shirt under. or i can leave it unbuttoned and have a collar look going on.

I finished up all my crafting for the True Blood swap. my partner h00lie liked it here's a group shot.

a sookie doll, cross stitch bookmark, stitched picture, crochet pillow, crochet cowl, knit fingerless gloves, and a jewelry set.

two barbie outfits for a winter barbie CAL ,the sweater on top is what mines was supposed to had looked like.

my stash is getting smaller, but then i go more yarn for the holiday, and I'm giving some away once i get to the post office

and of course my mom wanted me to make her a table clothe with tan/brown yarn. so i have to buy more.

OK So last year i made or remembered to post about 140 projects. lets see how many projects i can finish this year. a few thing that I'm working on right now or planning.

a baby blanket for my cousins baby, she doesn't know what it is yet so i making it with a greenish blue color. if she doesn't like it then I'm sure someone else would like it. Its going to be knit using a chart i found in the new stitch n bitch book, superstar knitting. its a leaf pattern. the original project is for a purse.

i also want to start making a few little things to sell. i might try to do flea markets on the day s that my boyfriend can take me. or craft shows, yard sales when i can find them for cheap.

so i need to look thought my collection of books and magazines. Did you know that there is a new magazine called "knitting today" yes from the makers of "crochet today" so now I'm subscribed for both, yay. I'm trying to get the Belleville library to carry them both. but my know small town libraries they don't have much of any thing. it looks like the last craft books they got in were from the early 90's. So i still have to go to the city to get good books.

I'm also giving sewing another go. i just have to find a good project i think i got ahead of my self with that dress this summer. and i haven't looked twice at the machine. I'm thinking a quilt, not like a crazy one maybe like a t-shirt quilt.

so i finished "Living Dead in Dallas" "Club Dead" about to finish "Dead to the World" next up "Dead as a Doornail"

Since my last update all I've been working on is a sweater yea from 10-6 to nearly 10-15 I should be done within the next day or so. Dang it kinda makes my breast look to big, oh well its my first sweater.

I never did the craft show on the 23rd my friend went and she said even less people came. glad i didn't waste gas or 20$ booth fee. I'm going to give away half of my crafted items for gifts the boxes there in is taking up to much space.

We moved into an apartment in Belleville,MI . Its only like 5 miles from our old place. But its smaller, so i don't have a cool craft room anymore. i have a closet and i can't fit it all in so its spilling into the bedroom.

I was going to quit my job at panera but they wanted me to stay so i work like two days a week. and Toby just got a job at another panera . I'm hoping that my second job can be used to save or pay off my debts. but you know with life things happen all the freaking time, that steals your money.

oh yea i found the new musical love of my life Fiona Apple. i know i'm way late to that party, but i love her music

Man i haven't been crafting as much as i used to .I've been reading alot. i finished up "dead until dark" and i'm reading "living dead in dallas" . I've also been working alot.

I'm planing on doing another craft show on october 23. I've still got lots of items from the last show. An i've made a few more items. lots of hats and i'm working on snowflakes.

craft fair FAIL

So I made tons of items for this craft fair. I handmade price tags, bags, signs. I was really happy with everything i did.

the day came .Toby woke up late and we didn't leave until 7:30. Then there was a road closer so we had to go a different way. we got into Temprance at about 8:20 but we were hungry so we so we didn't get to the church until like 8:50. We didn't know how to set up our canopy, we had to get tons of help with that. My table was to small for all my items. We forgot our chairs so we had to get some from a friend.

I only had three sales all day and two of them were to people I knew. I didn't even make the 10$ back from the cover fee. so i lost money being there. from gas, cover fee, and not just working the day. Then it started raining and what ever people that might have been look where scared away. then i got my fingers smashed trying to take the canopy down.

i'm not even sure if i want to try to do another craft fair again. i mean if this is how its going to be every time then its not fun. not that many people came.l I was most upset that nobody from my family came, not a one. and everyone in jessicas family came. heck they helped her sell.

so to be such a downer, but i just need to get this off my chest.

so its been hard as heck trying to get all the information about this craft fair. i can't even get a call or email back from the orginazer. and my friend some how can, and never gets all of the info or just isn't telling me. this whole thing is a little frustating . she told me that i might need a tent in case it rains, so i guess that it's going to be out in a parking lot. let hope it's not bad out that day. its also the day of toby and I's anniversary so yea.

i've been crafting up a storm for this things look
i made record bowls , picture frame earring holders, and price cards.
the record bowls are made like this .
the picure frame are made with an old lace curtain. its cut to be just a little bigger then the back piece of the frame. then you can glue it on i just shoved the back on and let a little hang over. it's not pro looking put it gets the job done.
the price cards took the longest. its made with consturtion paper, glue decrotive cutters if you got em. the paper is 12*9 so you can get 3*3 squares yay. glue two colors together. add a little edge to the front piece if you like. I got a stamper from vista printing, so i put my That1girl on the back of all the cards. and the price on the front in the area where your name is. you can sew beads/ buttons to it. if you have post earrings you can just poke them though and put on the backer. or use a hole punch in the corner and string it to things.

my friend Jessica told me that the church down the street from her is having a craft fair. I'm not to comfortable in churches.But the space is only 10$. and it will be a chance to sell some stuff and get my business cards out there.

i ordered cards from vista printing 250 card, a pen and a stamper all free, shipping 7.00$ and it will take up to 21 days to get it. I'm in no rush.

I've been working on making bangles from this tutorial . i used pop bottles and a hot glue gun.
